EtherCAT I/O is tightly integrated into the A3200 automation machine controller. Devices are configured with the card setup tool that generates the Fieldbus network topology definition. The user can then map the I/O with meaningful tag names that are available for use in the AeroBasic™ programming language directly, as well as in any of the applications such as the Scope or Motion Composer.

Within the MotionPAC, a software-based PLC integrated with the A3200 motion controller, all EtherCAT I/O is easily mapped to the input and output memory. At this point programmers can map the I/O points to Tags that are shared with all parts of the system logic, motion, Operator Interface, or Scope tools. In the Scope tools, the Tags can be plotted alongside other I/O including drive I/O, motion states (position, velocity, acceleration, or motor currents), or other PLC tags. The shared Tags are available in all of the programming languages automatically by name. Programming languages include Ladder diagrams, Function Block diagrams, Structured Text, AeroBasic™, LabVIEW®, C, or .NET. EtherCAT provides a standard interface into the full A3200 machine controller.

Options Description
-Hilscher-RJ45 Hilscher-RJ45 is a PCI card used for fieldbus connectivity; specific fieldbus configuration is determined by the controller options ordered with the software. Currently supports EtherCAT and PROFINET.

EtherCAT I/O Ordering Information

Options Description
ECAT-EK1100 EtherCAT bus coupler. Connects E-Bus I/O modules to the EtherCAT network. 24VDC input power. An ECAT-EL9011 module is required to terminate the ECAT-EK1100 E-Bus.  
Note: Requires 24 VDC power supply.
Note: All the I/O and power supplies listed below connect to the ECAT-EK1100 and communicate with it through E-Bus.
ECAT-EL9505 E-Bus Power supply. Converts E-bus 24 VDC power to 5 VDC.  0.5 A output current and 90 mA E-bus current consumption. All modules placed to the right of the ECAT-EL95xx will operate at the specified voltage. Additional ECAT-EL95xx modules can be added to support multiple voltages. The 24 VDC input voltage and the output voltage are not electrically isolated.
ECAT-EL9508 E-Bus Power supply. Converts E-bus 24 VDC power to 8 VDC.  0.5A output current and 90 mA E-bus current consumption. All modules placed to the right of the ECAT-EL95xx will operate at the specified voltage. Additional ECAT-EL95xx modules can be added to support multiple voltages. The 24 VDC input voltage and the output voltage are not electrically isolated.
ECAT-EL9510 E-Bus Power supply. Converts E-bus 24 VDC power to 10 VDC.  0.5 A output current and 90 mA E-bus current consumption. ECAT-EL9515 E-Bus Power supply. Converts E-bus 24 VDC power to 15 VDC.  0.5 A output current and 90 mA E-bus current consumption. All modules placed to the right of the ECAT-EL95xx will operate at the specified voltage. Additional ECAT-EL95xx modules can be added to support multiple voltages. The 24 VDC input voltage and the output voltage are not electrically isolated.
ECAT-EL1018 E-bus 8 channel 24 VDC digital input terminal, 10 micro-second filter, E-Bus. Single wire connection per input (input "on" with voltage applied).
ECAT-EL2008 E-Bus 8 channel digital output terminal, 24 VDC, 0.5 A per channel, E-Bus. Single wire connection per output.
ECAT-EL3068 E Bus 8 channel analog input terminal, 0-10 V, single ended, 12 bit resolution, >130 k-ohm input resistance, 1 kHz input filter, E-Bus.
ECAT-EL4008 E Bus 8 channel analog output terminal, 0-10 V, single ended, 12 bit resolution, E-Bus.
ECAT-EL9011 E-Bus termination module. One termination module required for each ECAT-EK1100 bus coupler I/O assembly.
